Kenya safari lodges and hotels is a limited company incorporated in 1966. The KSLH properties started operations in 1969 under the management of Hallways Hotels LTD, a UK based company until 1974. Thereafter the management of the three units changed to African Tours and Hotels LTD a parastatal, whose management contract was terminated after it was put under receivership in June 1998.As a result KSLH took over the management of its properties.
Kenya Safari Lodges and Hotels is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife owned through shareholding by Tourism Finance Corporation (TFC), Mt. Lodge (MLL) and Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). The company exists to promote tourism; market its properties to tourist market; manage hotels and lodges; conserve wildlife and the environment; and to purse business interests in the tourism industry under the management of a Board of Directors through a senior management team under the leadership of the General Manager.
